Construction Manager

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Manager for a MechanicalEngineering Specialist. This role will be working on a new project in the City of London.

The ideal Construction Manager candidate will have come through the Mechanical Services trade path and have a clear understanding of the Mechanical Services industry

Background / Experience / General Overview

• Desired experience working within Local authority or central government contracts within London or the surrounding home counties.
• Has experience in managing mechanical services projects.
• Lives within the M25 or surrounding home counties.
• Has experience working in New Construction projects ideally as the Mechanical subcontractor
• Has a desire to take ownership of the role and growth within our company.
• Manage contract budgets and finances including payment approval processes.
• Client communication and relationships

Key Responsibilities

• Day to day management of site construction activities including direct labour and sub-contractors whilst communicating and coordinating key project duties.
• Monitoring of the overall progress of works against the agreed construction programme.
• Communicate directly with the client and manage expectations & sign offs
• Manage and adhere to Contract budgets including payment approvals
• Working with the client and own team in managing day to day challenges
• Completing site progress reports and issuing to the Contracts Manager.
• Liaising with the commercial team to co-ordinate changes/variations
• Maintaining accurate on-site records of all goods received on a weekly basis ensuring that these (including all delivery notes) are correctly processed.
• Management of all Waste transfer, maintaining accurate records for the disposal and separation of waste.
• Ensuring all Health and Safety procedures are implemented and followed.
• Deputising for the Project / Contract Manager if required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Level 4 or above in Construction Management
• Experience and expert knowledge with H&S Legislation.
• SMSTS/SSSTS
• Experience setting up new sites
• First Aid at Work
• Qualifications in Plumbing/Mechanical Engineering

This ConstructionManager position is due to start in May however they will start someone sooner is available immediately.
